Back PagePLAN OF THE FLOOR GRATINGS OF THE KÜBELWAGEN Typ 82

The gratings are made of light-coloured hard wood (ash); the main members measure 20mm x 25mm, set 20 mm apart, and the cross-pieces 6 mm x 25 mm.

The main members are bevelled on all edges, the cross-pieces rounded on both sides.

The cross-pieces cross the main members through mortices.

A 1 mm thick steel strap, measuring 25 mm x 95 mm with a 12 mm hole 12 mm form the end is screwed under members 8 and 9, and goes over the front seat fixation stud (on the door side) to hold in place each grating.

Left and right gratings are symetrical, but the left one has shorter 1 and 2 members, to clear the pedals. At the rear end, members 6, 7, 8 et 9 are cut to fit the floor pan.

Gratings should not be painted, but impregnated with boiled linseed-oil or varnished.

All dimensions are given in mm. (For the un-metric heathens, 1" = 25.4 mm)
